James Robertson began his professional life as a dancer. Trained at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, he performed internationally as a soloist for companies in Europe, the USA and Canada, including Charleroi Danses, Stephen Petronio Company and Toronto Dance Theatre. James entered the world of art and design in 1999, working as an interior designer with the acclaimed international design firm Yabu Pushelberg and creating set designs for Christopher House and TDT (Nest, Severe Clear and Persephone’s Lunch), among others. Since 2003, James has been President of James Robertson Art Consultants Inc, based in both Toronto, ON and London, UK, an innovative organization that develops contemporary art collections for luxury hotels and major corporations in the Middle East, North America, Asia and Europe.
