Philip Strong is a graduate of the Banff Centre Audio Associate program, a Mystery Lab fellow, and an instructor at The Audio Recording Academy. He has participated in John Oswald's Plunderphonics recordings and collaborated on other Oswaldian artworks including A Time To Hear For Here, the new 35-speaker perpetual sound mobile and permanent installation at the Royal Ontario Museum. As well as creating soundtracks for dance, Mr. Strong also scores for film and theatre and produces albums for artists such as Laurel MacDonald (Echoes Radio's Best Album of 2005) and Mary Jane Lamond (Best Solo Album, East Coast Music Awards 2006). Compositions for Toronto Dance Theatre works such as Persephone's Lunch and Sly Verb are amongst those featured on MacDonald's latest release, Luscinia's Lullaby, and Mr. Strong's Dora-awarded soundtrack for TDT's Timecode Break has been released in its entirety. In the decade since 1999, he has created music and sound underscoring eight feature dance productions with Christopher House and TDT - and is currently working on the ninth!
